Hey There, I'm Jen!

I didn't come to hair the conventional way.

I grew up deeply immersed in music β€” convinced that was my path. Then I found makeup, fell in love with the beauty world, and spent years as a makeup artist before picking up a pair of scissors for the first time. In 2013 I made the leap into hairstyling and I have never looked back.

My foundation is Aveda β€” a training ground that shaped not just my technical skills but my entire philosophy around beauty, wellness, and intention. From there I dove deep into razor cutting, studying under Corrina Hernandez at Pony Education and Holly Seidel ofΒ @hollygirldoeshair β€” two educators who completely changed how I see texture, movement, and the relationship between a stylist and the hair in front of her. Razor cutting became more than a technique for me. It became a way of thinking.

Around the same time I found O&M β€” Original Mineral β€” and everything clicked.

O&M is built on the belief that color should be beautiful and safe. Safe for the client sitting in your chair and safe for the stylist standing behind it. As an O&M Educator I get to carry that message forward β€” that you don't have to choose between stunning results and conscious, clean ingredients. That the health of your client's scalp and hair matters just as much as the finished look. That what we put on people's bodies is a reflection of what we believe about their wellbeing.

That's what holistic means to me. Not a trend or a buzzword. A way of practicing.

The Bigger Picture

When I say I'm a holistic hairstylist I mean it in the broadest sense of the word.

Holistic to me means looking at the whole picture β€” the cut, the color, the client, and the career. It means caring about the health of the hair you're working on and the health of the stylist doing the work. It means building a business that sustains you financially, protects your energy, and fits the life you actually want to be living.

I believe that being a great hairstylist is only part of the equation. The other part β€” the part the industry almost never talks about β€” is building a business that holds you up instead of slowly wearing you down.

That's why everything I teach lives at the intersection of craft and sustainability. The technical and the practical. The artistic and the strategic. The work you do behind the chair and the business you build around it.

What You'll Find Here

Whether you found me for my razor cutting approach, my clean color philosophy, or the business side of running an independent salon β€” you're in the right place.

I created Razor Cutting Essentials for stylists who want to understand the technique deeply β€” not just the mechanics but the mindset behind it.

And my upcoming program The Sustainable Stylist is for independent hairstylists who are ready to build a business that actually pays them well, protects their energy, and fits their life. Pricing, scheduling, ideal clients, systems β€” everything the industry never taught us.

On this site you will find education that covers all of it. The cutting, the coloring, and the business of doing this work sustainably, on your own terms.

Because I believe you can be as good at your business as you are at your craft.

And I believe that career β€” the one where the artistry and the sustainability live side by side β€” is absolutely possible for you.
